2017 Peterson Vineyard Chardonnay
The 2017 Peterson Vineyard Chardonnay shows a combination of stone fruits and subtle hazelnuts on the nose and is much more subdued than many SLH Chardonnays that show more passion fruit and pineapple. The wine was aged in French oak (50% new) for 15 months before bottling. The palate exhibits a nice balance between apples, pears, moderate acidity and toasty oak, with no one trait dominating the others. This wine is drinking well now, but should be at its best between 2020 and 2022.
