2016 Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay
The development of Cortada Alta’s Chardonnay blocks have finally borne fruit — while we initially intended for this to be our first Cortada Alta wine, the 2016 harvest was such that we couldn’t fill a single barrel, and it became a Cuvée of fruit from our two vineyards. The 10 vineyard blocks spread across Cortada Alta’s 42 acres, along with the fruit from Peterson Vineyard make for a multi-dimensional wine that features distinct Santa Lucia Highlands tropical fruit notes of passion fruit and pineapple. French oak and apple-like tartness provide depth and balance to this offering.
