A cooler expression of Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot, the 2012 Peterson Vineyard Pinot Noir is shy to reveal itself but worth the wait. Aromas of blackberry, grilled meats, cedar, and oak-driven spice open the wine and transition to a palate of ripe plums and fresh strawberries. The growing season made for perfect fruit set and slow predictable ripening really allowed this wine to show a pure and emblematic Peterson Vineyard Pinot Noir.
