2016 Peterson Vineyard pinot noir
Handcrafted by renowned winemaker Ed Kurtzman, the Mansfield-Dunne 2016 Peterson Vineyard pinot noir contains a mix of all 5 clones planted in the vineyard (828, Pommard (05), 667, 777, and 115). The wine was aged in French oak (70% new) for 15 months before bottling. Garnet color with a deep violet core, the nose brings intense aromas of strawberry compote, rhubarb, winter spices, forest floor and cardamom. Ultra fine tannins frame the palate around flavors of lavender, high-toned wild berries and savory game. Well-balanced acidity brings the dense core of opulent fruit into focus on the finish. This wine will drink well from 2019 through 2025.
